Suffering from dry, dull skin? Perhaps your skin tone appears uneven or your makeup looks splotchy and cakey whenever you apply it. If so, we have got you covered! In this blog, we will explore 5 steps in how you can make your skin glow from the inside out – say goodbye to dull and bland skin, and say hello to glowing skin and flawless makeup application!
1. Eat healthier
Unsurprisingly, eating certain foods can help with improving the quality of your skin! In particular, it is recommended that you should eat foods such as avocados, sweet potatoes, broccoli, and tomatoes to maintain healthy skin. These foods are great sources of fatty acids, vitamin C and carotenoids that all contribute to the health of your skin, keeping it moisturised, and appearing bright and refreshed. Whilst greasy foods are certainly favourites for many people, if you are looking to make your skin glow, then it would be wise to avoid eating greasy foods like pizzas, french fries, and crisps often.
2. Drink plenty of water
In addition to eating healthier, drinking plenty of water can also help with enabling your skin to glow naturally. Keeping yourself hydrated can help with keeping your skin hydrated as well, so make sure that you are drinking plenty of water each day. Around 2 litres of water is recommended daily, which equates to around 9 cups of water a day. Of course, this can be influenced by individual habits and body type, but aiming to drink at least 2 litres a day could potentially do wonders for your skin.
3. Use hydrating and moisturising skincare products
Although eating healthily and drinking enough water can certainly help with maintaining healthy skin, don’t forget that you can also utilise hydrating and moisturising skincare products to help with making your skin appear shiny and bright. In particular, products like a radiance booster and primer can assist with preparing your skin for a dewy makeup application that makes your skin glow. Keep an eye out for skincare products with hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and glycerin as these ingredients can help with the appearance of glowing, healthy skin.
4. Sleep more
You might be tired of hearing just about everyone saying that sleep can help with skin problems, but it is actually true! In fact, your skin cells repair and regenerate during your sleep – up to three times faster than during the day. Do you need any more reasons to sleep more? Getting plenty of sleep is important in maintaining healthy skin, especially when it comes to the production of new collagen. So, if you are planning on ageing slowly, get plenty of beauty sleep!
5. Set up a face-cleansing routine
How often do you wash and cleanse your face? Regardless of whether you wear makeup or not, it is suggested that you should still wash your face in the morning and double-cleanse your face every night. This can help remove built-up dirt, grime, and oil that would have accumulated on your face throughout the day. Exfoliating your face either once to twice a week can also be useful in removing dead skin cells for brighter skin.
