As we near the end of 2022, many of us are already looking to 2023 and what next year has to hold for us. One thing we’re especially excited about is seeing what décor trends will emerge in the next year as situations and sensibilities change.
After looking into the current trends, we have identified four décor trends that will be incredibly influential in 2023, so without further ado, let’s look into what will be 2023’s biggest décor trends.
Top 4 Decor Trends 2024
1. Art Deco Revivalism
Time and time again, the décor industry finds new trends by looking back to the past to find old trends in need of revival. In 2023, it looks like the trend most likely to be resurrected en-masse will be the art décor style, made famous by American architects in the 1920s, so it’s apt that 100 years later, this style is returning.
Currently, the popularity of art deco aspects is surging;. At the same time, a full revival isn’t in motion yet, certain aspects of art décor like ornate details, geometric patterns, and bold colours are growing, which will more than likely lead to a full art deco revivalism in 2023.
2. Multifunctional Design
Over the past few years, people have been spending more time than ever at home, thanks to lockdowns and working from home. This extra time spent at home has to lead many to re-look at how we view functionality in a home and how certain aspects of our homes work.
So, one of the biggest trends you’ll see in 2023 is a rise in multifunctional design elements and rooms designed with multiple purposes. The big multipurpose room will inevitably be the home office/spare bedroom, but other spaces like multi-use entertainment rooms and décor items like day & night blinds and furniture storage will also boom in 2023.
3. Vintage Patterned Tiles
Patterned tiles as a décor trend have been slowly growing in popularity over the past few years, but one big focus in 2023 will be on vintage and reclaimed patterned tiles. Due to a growing focus on sustainability and nostalgia, vintage patterned tiles are primed to be top décor items in the coming year.
One thing these tiles have going for them is their versatility. Depending on what patterns you can find, you could fit them in several décor schemes, such as Mediterranean styling with blue and white patterned tiles, Art Deco with geometric patterned tiles, or baroque design using tiles with gold accents.
4. Focus On Sustainability
As we’ve mentioned, sustainability is currently a hot topic in the décor world; this means that throughout the next year, sustainability will grow ever more prominent. The sustainability trend has a few avenues for which it can manifest, ranging from where products are from to what materials they’re made of.
In terms of where pieces are from, there will be a big focus on reclaimed and vintage pieces and sustainable retailers. Then for materials, lots of traditional materials like linen, wood, jute, and wicker will be in high demand.
